How to Cancel Your Hidemyass Account

While most people use the service for safe and discreet internet browsing, there is now the option for everyone to cancel their account at any time. If you’re thinking about terminating your Hidemyass account, here’s what you’ll need to do.

Cancel Email Alerts

You can easily opt-out of receiving email notifications whenever there’s a new episode of a show you’re interested in or whenever there’s an important update regarding your account. To do this, simply visit the Settings page within the app and click on the blue Email icon in the upper right corner of the screen. From there, you can unsubscribe from any email alerts.

It’s worth noting that, even after you unsubscribe, you’ll still receive occasional emails from Hidemyass – for example, when there’s a new season of a favorite TV series or a big sale on a show you watch. If you decide that two-factor authentication is too much security, you can always use the enhanced security option and require a six-digit password to sign in – just make sure to keep your Gmail account’s security questions accurate as you may need to provide them when asked.

How to Terminate Your Hidemyass Account

Once you’ve registered for a Gmail account and used its two-factor authentication to secure your Hidemyass account, you’ll need to visit https://accounts.hidemyass.com to access your account’s settings. From there, you can simply log out and cancel your account. You won’t be able to access your account from this page if you’ve previously used two-factor authentication, but you can easily get back to it by signing in with your Gmail account’s name and password.

If you ever decide to use the service again, you’ll need to create a new account and then link your old one with your new one (this is called “de-duplication”).
