How to Cancel PureVPN

So you’re thinking about cancelling your subscription to the luxury VPN service PureVPN. Good idea! But it takes a little bit of planning and forethought to pull off successfully.

Here’s how to cancel the service without hurting your wallet too much.

Cancel From Your Mobile Phone

The first and most obvious way to cancel your PureVPN subscription is to do it from your mobile phone. After all, you probably have the app installed and/or use the service regularly.

This is easiest if you have Apple’s Find My iPhone app installed. All you have to do is go to Settings, then click on the Privacy icon. From there, you can click on the Apps icon and see a list of all your installed apps. You can cross-register with different Apple ID’s on one device, so if one is registered with Netflix, the other can’t be used to register for PureVPN.

Once you’ve found the app, tap on it until you get to the main menu. From there, you can either hit the Menu icon to access the settings or you can tap on the My Subscriptions icon. At the very top of this menu, you’ll see a list of your currently active subscriptions. Make sure you’ve highlighted the correct item in the list by tapping on it once, then hit the Delete icon on the top-right side of the screen.

Depending on how long you’ve been a registered user of the app, you might also see a message at the top of the screen confirming that this is a recurring payment and to confirm the deletion.

Cancel From Your Desktop Computer

So, you’ve tried the above method and it didn’t work. Fear not! There’s another way to cancel your PureVPN subscription. And you’ll need to do this from your desktop computer.

Go to www.purevpn.com/help/merchant and click on the Support button. You’ll get redirected to a page with a contact form. Fill out the form and click on the Submit button.

After you’ve submitted the contact form, you can either choose to receive a response by email or to call the support team. If you’d like to cancel by phone, just call the US number on the website and follow the automated script. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for someone to respond to your email.

Cancel From Within The App

If you use another client, you can also try to access the My Subscriptions menu within that app and cancel there. Just remember that many VPN apps don’t offer this feature, so you might have to look elsewhere for help. (You can check out our review of the best Android VPN apps to see if any of them offer this option.)

You should also read our guide to finding and using reliable VPNs to avoid any nasty surprises once you’ve canceled.

And don’t forget about the free tier! Many VPN services, including PureVPN, offer the option of browsing the web privately and securely for free. Just remember that if you do this you’re putting your privacy at risk, as your internet traffic will be routed through and recorded by the VPN service.

Other Ways to Cancel

There are a number of other ways you can cancel your PureVPN subscription. Some of these involve contacting the company directly and some require you to submit a ticket on their website. We’ll discuss a couple of these options, just to give you more ideas on how to proceed.

The first way is by contacting the company directly. You can do this by sending an email to support@purevpn.com or by going to their website and filling out the form there. You’ll need to provide your name, email address, and phone number, along with a statement that you intend to cancel your subscription. You can also choose to have the company stop auto-renewal or to have a credit card ready to be billed once the subscription is canceled.

The second way to cancel your subscription is by visiting the website and filling out a support request. On the website, you’ll see a link to click on to get to the support desk. Once you’ve done this, you’ll get an email with a ticket number to reply to. Or you can call the support phone number listed on the website and speak to one of their customer care agents.

The advantage to doing this online is that you can continue to access the service even after you’ve canceled. The disadvantage is that you have to do it manually. The third way to cancel is to call the number listed on the website. Just remember that many companies, including Google and Apple, have policies against call center representatives answering questions about services purchased through their platforms.

Warning!

Once you’ve canceled your subscription, you need to warn your credit card companies, your internet service providers, and your friends and family members that you’ve done so. To ensure that they don’t get bills from the VPN service after you’ve canceled, you can ask them to delete your data or change your phone number. You can also check if there’s an option for you to unsubscribe from their mailing lists in your email settings.
