How to Reinstall NordVPN After Uninstalling

If you’re reading this, I assume you already know what happened. You either accidentally uninstalled the app or the server got compromised and had to be reset.

Now that you’ve gotten all your important data back, it’s time to put things back the way they were. Thankfully, this process is pretty straightforward and can be done in two simple steps.

Let’s get started.

Step 1: Re-Download and Install the App

Since you already have the data, there’s no reason to keep the old version around. Go ahead and download the latest version of the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If you’ve already paid for the app, there’s no need to go through the trouble of canceling your account and starting over again. Just tap the download button and let the app install itself. Once it’s finished, launch the app and log in with your existing login details. There, now you have NordVPN again. All done!

Step 2: Restore your VPN connection

Now that you have the app installed and your VPN connection back up, it’s time to restore it to how it was before the whole incident. Go into the app and click the gear icon at the top right. From here, click the option to toggle the VPN connection on or off. Now, if you want to use the VPN connection, all you have to do is tap the toggle to turn it on, and then log in when prompted. When you log in, your original settings will be restored and your identity will be preserved. Once you’re on the site, you can proceed as usual. This process will be seamless and you’ll have no idea that a VPN was ever disconnected. It really is that simple.
