How to Get Netflix to Work When Using a VPN

Connect to the Netflix Website

First, you will need to connect to the Netflix website. You can do this by entering the URL http://netflix.com in your browser’s address bar. Once you are connected, you will see a screen similar to the one in the screenshot below:

Pay for Your Subscription Using a Credit Card or PayPal Account

Next, you will need to pay for your Netflix account with either a credit card or PayPal account. You can use the handy buttons below the screen to make the payment. If you choose to pay with a credit card, you will then be directed to a secure payment page. If you use PayPal, you can go directly to the confirmation page to confirm your order.

Redeem Your Points and Earn More Rewards

Once you have paid for your Netflix account and validated your email address, you will see a screen like the one below. Make sure you click the “Activate my account” button to activate your account and redeem the points you have accumulated.

Check Your Inbox for Messages From Netflix

You will then need to check your inbox for messages from Netflix. Inside these messages you will find a confirmation email from Netflix with instructions on how to get started using the service. In addition, you will find a link to “my account” and a button to “continue to the guide”. Click the button to continue.

Set Up Your Subscription In Advance

You can then set up your Netflix account in advance if you want to use the service soon. You can click on the “My Account” tab at the top of the screen and then click on “Change Plan” to set up auto-renewals and change your password. You will also need to set the country you are in and the language you prefer for the onscreen prompts.

Connect to Netflix Using a VPN

Activation Link

Use Netflix Locally

Once you have logged in to your Netflix account, you can then choose to watch content available only in your area. To do this, click on the link below your computer’s local address. This will then bring you to a menu like the one below, listing all the content you can access based on your available bandwidth:

Choose Your Programming

Choose what you want to watch and click on the “play” symbol to begin. You can then change the channel using the button below it. Once you have made your selection, you can click on the “Watch Now” symbol at the top of the screen. The content will then begin buffering. Once the buffer is complete, you can click on the “play” symbol again to begin your content.

Allowed Geographic Location

You can choose your geographic location from a drop down menu below your computer’s local address. In addition, you can also choose the amount of monthly data you want to use (0 for unlimited). Choose your country and state from the drop down menus below before you make your selection. Once your selection is made, you will then be directed to a screen with a map. You can choose your city from the map below before you make your selection.

Cookies

If you are worried about Netflix remembering your information or if you want to delete your cookies, you can do this via your computer’s settings. You can then block cookies from being placed on your device. A lot of people prefer having cookies enabled as they feel it improves their browsing experience. If you want to be sure, you can then use an extension such as ‘No cookies ever’ to delete your cookies whenever you visit a site.

Use a DNS Proxy to Evade Geographic Restrictions

Some regions block specific domains or IP addresses from being accessed by consumers. One way around this is to use a DNS proxy to access blocked websites. You can then use the proxy to access Netflix if your area restricts it. You can enter the DNS address of the proxy server and the address of the Netflix site in the forms below to get started.

Secure Streaming

You can then choose to use a secure connection to access secured content such as Netflix. This can be done by entering https:// in place of http:// in the URL for the site you wish to access. In addition, you can use a VPN to connect to Netflix securely. You can enter the above information to get started.

If you use Steam, you may want to use a proxy to browse the internet to increase your chances of getting what you want. You can then enter the proxy information in the form below to begin.
