How to Install NordVPN on Your Router

If you’re looking for a simple and easy way to get a VPN up and running on your router without having to set up a dedicated server at home, then you’ve come to the right place! In this article, we’ll tell you how to install NordVPN on your router so you can take advantage of all the benefits of a VPN without leaving your home network.

Step 1: Get Your NordVPN Account

The first step is to head over to the NordVPN website and create an account (if you don’t already have one). When you register on their site, you’ll see something like this:

  • NordVPN Account Created
  • Get Started

Simply click on the Get Started button to continue onto their dashboard. Here you’ll find a variety of features and tools that make setting up a VPN with NordVPN simpler than ever. If you’re new to VPNs, this is a great place to start as you can simply follow the onscreen instructions to set up your account.

Step 2: Configure NordVPN On Your Router

Now that you have your NordVPN account set up, you can login and immediately navigate to the VPN Settings page. Here you’ll find all the configurations for connecting to NordVPN and selecting the server you want to use.

The first step is to click on the plus sign next to the VPN entry to see all the settings. Here you can configure the VPN server, port, and login credentials:

  • Server Address: Enter the IP address of the VPN server you want to use (e.g., 119.29.29.29)
  • Port: Enter the port number (e.g., PPTP: 1882)
  • Username: Type in your login credentials (e.g., username: admin, password: pa55w0rd)
  • Password: Type in your password again

Once you’ve entered these details, click on the Save button at the bottom to save your changes and exit the VPN settings page.

Step 3: Browse the Web With Confidence

When you initially set up your NordVPN account, you received an email containing a link to download and install the NordVPN app. Once you have the app installed, you can head back to the VPN settings page and click on the Link Status button.

This will then take you to a page providing you with a confirmation code. Once you’ve entered this code on the website, you’ll be able to connect to the VPN and browse the web with confidence.

To connect to the VPN, click on the Connect button, and you’ll be prompted to enter your email address and password. Once you’ve entered these details, click on the Verify button to continue onto the VPN’s login screen. From here, you can log in using the details you set up earlier in the process.

Now, whenever you’re connected to the VPN, you’ll see a green button in the menu bar at the top of your browser. This will allow you to easily connect to the VPN when you are behind a firewall or restrictive content blockers (such as those implemented by ISPs).

From here you can manage your NordVPN account, review your connection status, and change your login credentials if needed.

Step 4: Monitor Network Activity With The Stats Page

If you’re interested in keeping track of your network activity, you can visit the VPN’s stats page by clicking on the Connected button in the top right corner. This will then take you to a page displaying several sub-sections containing useful information about your connection.

You’ll see traffic and session details in the Server Statistics section, including the following:

  • Connections
  • Sessions
  • Bytes Sent
  • Bytes Received

This page provides you with all the information you need to monitor and manage your VPN connection. From here, you can easily see how many connections you’ve made, how many concurrent sessions you have active, and how many megabytes have been sent and received.

Step 5: Protect All Your Devices With A Profile

If you’re using VPNs to protect all your devices, you can create a profile for each one. This profile will consist of a name and a short description of the device, as well as the IP address of the VPN server you want to use. You can then simply connect to the VPN and select the profile for each device you want to use.

To protect your laptop, select VPN Laptop, and you’ll be connected to the VPN server associated with that profile. You can then use your laptop as usual, with all the benefits of a VPN tunnel between your laptop and the internet. Once you’ve established your VPN connection on your laptop, you can use the dedicated profile setting to connect to the same server whenever you want to use it for another device.

Step 6: Always Be Protected With A Hardware Wallet

Finally, if you’ve always wanted to be sure that your internet connection is always secure no matter where you go or what device you use, you can get a dedicated hardware wallet. These wallets are designed to be simple to use yet secure enough to keep your coins safe from hackers and malware. For those seeking privacy and security, a dedicated hardware wallet is a perfect way to ensure that your internet connection is always protected.

The only downside to a hardware wallet is that you’ll need to manually enter your PIN whenever you use it. However, if you use a strong, complex PIN, this won’t be a problem as long as you remember to type it when prompted.

So, as you can see, setting up a VPN is pretty simple. You can use the detailed instructions provided by NordVPN or you can navigate to their website and follow the onscreen prompts. Either way, getting a VPN up and running on your router is now as easy as pie!
