How to Put a VPN on a Tarkov M4 (HK416)

The M4 (HK416) is a multi-purpose battle-rifle made by Heckler and Schkader. It is one of the most popular medium-sized assault rifles in the world, and is generally seen as a more reliable and accurate alternative to the AK-47 for newer and experienced hunters. It was designed to be less temperamental than many of its counterparts, and this idea seems to have worked out quite well; aside from some of its minor idiosyncrasies, the M4 (HK416)’s operating system is quite user-friendly.

Operating System And Firewall

Even though the M4 (HK416) was created more than five decades ago, its operating system and firewalls are still quite up-to-date considering the rifle’s age. This is mainly because the HK-manufacturing firm still creates and updates new firmware versions for the rifle on a regular basis.

Linux Support

If you are looking for a new operating system for your PC, you could try out Linux. It is a free and open-source operating system that is suitable for almost all use cases. It is very lightweight, and it is quite easy to install and use. And because it is open source, you have the option of downloading the latest stable version from its official website and installing it on your computer yourself, without needing any technical assistance at all.

Linux is not just suitable for gamers, either. Its universal acceptance among the tech-savvy community means that it can be used for all sorts of technological endeavours, from software development to hardware configuration and repair. The only downside to Linux is that it is not (yet) optimised for use on VR devices, which is where you will probably spend most of your time if you get hooked on the VR train.

Steam Play And Big Picture Mode Support

Valve Corporation’s store platform Steam supports many older GPUs and CPU’s via its “Big Picture Mode”. This effectively turns your TV into a small monitor, displaying all the information you need while playing your favourite games on Steam.

With Steam Play enabled, all you need is a broadband connection, a stable internet connection and a TV with a HDMI port to get started. You will then be presented with a short list of games that are compatible with your hardware, and you can simply click to begin playing.

This will only work if your TV is supporting HDMI 1.4 or higher, which has a maximum resolution of 4K. If it is not, then you will either need to upgrade your TV or find a 4K TV that supports Steam Play.

How To Set Up A VPN On The M4 (HK416)

If you have your own VPN server, you can use it to secure your wireless and wired connections to prevent others from eavesdropping and getting access to your personal information, as well as that of your gaming devices. In this article, we’ll show you how to set up a VPN on the M4 (HK416), and how to use it to secure your local network.

1. First off, you will need to download and install the HEckler OS 3.02 firmware on to your rifle. You can find the firmware here (version 3.02 is the latest stable version as of this writing, released in October 2018).

The firmware upgrade will take some time to download and install. When it is done, you will need to restart your rifle manually, or let it rest for few minutes before attempting to switch it on. After that, you can power it up and begin using it as normal.

2. Now that you have your HK416 up and running, you can begin configuring and connecting to your VPN server. For this example, we will be using NordVPN, as it is one of the most popular and well-known VPN services in the world. To begin with, click the “Connect” button located at the top right corner of your screen to bring up the Connection Settings. Then, click the “+” icon next to the VPN server location drop-down menu to add a new server.

This will list all the available VPN protocols and their encryption standards. You can connect to a different server depending on your needs. For this guide, we will use the ‘PPTP’ protocol with a 2048-bit encryption key.

3. After selecting the VPN protocol and encryption key, click the “Add” button to continue. You will then be presented with a login screen for the VPN server. At this point, you will need to create a new login and password to begin using the VPN service. Then, click the “Connect” button to continue.

Your VPN connection is now established and active. You can now begin configuring your device to use the service as explained below.

Device Configuration

To use a VPN on a computer or mobile device, you will need to download and install a VPN client software on it. There are many VPN clients available for download, and while most of them work just fine, some of them are known to have compatibility issues with certain routers, devices, and broadband connections. If you run into any problems, read the troubleshooting guide in the documentation provided by the VPN service you use.

Wireless Connection

If you have wireless access point connected to your PC, you can use it to connect to the VPN. You will need to create a new wireless network named “Wireless-VPN” and specify the SSID and password. Then, you can connect to this network whenever you want to use the VPN.

To create a new wireless network, click the “WiFi” icon located at the top right corner of your screen. Then, click the “+” sign next to the drop-down menu to bring up the Network Settings. Finally, click the “WiFi Security” tab and change the security mode to “WPA2 PSK”. This will prevent others from eavesdropping on your transmissions over wireless connections, as WPA2 is a type of security that is quite resistant to hacking attempts and is considered quite safe. To prevent hackers from accessing your personal information, you can choose a strong password (at least eight characters long) and ensure that it is not predictable (such as repeating the same password over and over).

Now that your wireless connection is set up, you can use the VPN within your browser or other applications to encrypt all your network traffic, and maintain privacy and security while on the internet. Note that you still need to ensure that your wired connection is also secured with a VPN, as the traffic on this connection will also be encrypted.

Wired Connection

If you have a wired Ethernet connection available to you, you can use it to connect to the VPN server. For this example, we will be using a TP-Link TL-WR703N wireless router with a cable plugged into it. You can purchase this device from any major electronics retail outlet, or create your own network by following the instructions here. Then, create a new wired connection named “Wired-VPN” and specify the IP address and encryption key (in this case, we will use a/256-bit encryption).

Your VPN connection is now established and active. You can now begin configuring your device to use the service as explained below.

VPN Client Configuration

Once you have connected to your VPN server, you will need to install the VPN client software. In this case, we will be using the Windows-based NordVPN app because it is one of the most popular apps in the Google Play Store. To begin with, download and install the NordVPN app onto your computer or mobile device.

Open the app and click the “+” symbol at the top right corner of your screen to bring up the connection settings. Then, click the “Add VPN Configuration” button to begin configuring the app to connect to your VPN server.

4. From here, you will need to enter the name of your VPN server, along with the login and password you created above. Then, click the “Add” button to continue.

You can now begin using the VPN on your machine. If you are using a PC, you can connect to the internet or local network via your wired or wireless connections while maintaining complete privacy and security. If you want to play video or other digital content online, you can do so by using a VPN connection. And if you want to use online gaming, you can play with confidence because your traffic will be encrypted using a VPN protocol such as PPTP.
