How to Use the VPN in TeamViewer

Even though the internet is full of tips on how to download and install a VPN on your own computer, it’s different when you’re using a different device.

Here’s a guide to using a VPN with TeamViewer: from installation to settings, so you can ensure your privacy and security when working from home or on the move.

Install the VPN Client

Like most VPNs, EasyVPN provides a handy-dandy-client that makes connecting to their servers simple. All you need to do is click the connect button when the app loads to begin connecting to their servers.

The only difference is that you have to download and install the EasyVPN client on your computer or mobile device before you can use their service. Once installed, the client will provide a menu for you to choose from when connecting to their servers. You can click here to download the app for free from either Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store.

Configure the VPN

Once you have installed the VPN client on your device, you can configure it to your liking with the following steps. First, sign into your account. Then, click the gear icon () in the top right corner of the window and select Settings.

You’ll see a screen with your server configurations. If you have more than one device that you use regularly for TeamViewer sessions, you can select which one you want to use (by default, your phone) and configure the other one (e.g. a laptop or desktop) to use a different VPN.

The most basic settings you need to configure are:

• Your username
• Your email address
• A password
• Your country
• Select VPN protocol (L2TP/IPSec)
• Enable or disable authentication (auto-login)
• Select geo-location (if it’s not already selected)
• Click Save

Once you’ve made these settings, click the blue button () at the bottom of the Settings window to save them.

Use the VPN Client For TeamViewer Sessions

Now that your VPN is configured, you can use it for TeamViewer sessions. To do this, you must first download and install the TeamViewer app on the device you’ll be using. If you have multiple devices, you can download the app from either Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store depending on which one you have on your device.

Once the app is installed, you can click the gear icon () in the top right corner of the window to open Settings. On the next screen, you’ll see a list of all the devices paired with your account. Select the one you want to use (by default, your phone) and click the green button () next to it.

You’ll see the following screen:

• Connecting…
• Looking for Network…
• Establishing connection…
• Server offers VPN service. Select OK to use its services or Cancel to cancel the connection.

In the screen that follows, you’ll see a list of all the available servers. Simply click the one you want to use and enter a desired password if prompted.

You can now connect to your VPN and ensure your privacy and security when working remotely or on the move.
