Canadians also like to spend time online, but they use social media apps more than visit websites. Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram are a big part of their day. If we look at the least spent on average, we see that people in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines spend the least amount of time online. It’s worth noting that in these places, almost all of the time is spent in apps rather than websites. This is because these countries have a lot of mobile phone usage — over 95% of the population. Apps are what you get when you’re on the go and there’s no connection available. For those in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, online gaming is also a big part of their day. This, too, contributes to the low average time that they spend online.
