Where is NordVPN’s Most Visited Server?

Where do people go when they want to spend their time online? Is there a specific region of the world that visitors come from? If so, where do they spend most of their time? There are a few clear answers to these questions. If you’re curious about the most visited server (or servers) for your website or app, use our handy servers locator to find out.

The Top Five Most Visited Servers

In order to determine the most visited servers for NordVPN, we looked into the region that our users come from and also considered the language preferences of our users. Below, you’ll find five of NordVPN’s most visited servers — with over 500,000 visits each.

United States

Users from the United States are clearly the most populous group. Not only do they constitute almost 40% of our user base, but they also visit our website and use our services the most. Without a doubt, the United States is the most important market for VPNs. As a matter of fact, all of our top five most visited servers are located in the United States.

It’s important to point out that this is not a bad thing. The United States has some of the greatest businesses and technologies in the world, and it’s a great place to be a guest. You’re more likely to find a job, make money, and live safely online than you are in many other places.

Despite the obvious advantages of living and operating in the United States, there is still a major downside. Keeping your personal data safe and secure is not as easy as you’d think. The digital divide is also huge in the United States. There are numerous cases where government agencies and businesses try to clamp down on internet freedom. This is why it’s important to have a VPN.

Canada

Canadians make up a little over 10% of our user base. Overall, they’re a fairly active group with a lot of tech-savvy individuals. We have a few servers in Canada as well, and they’re all fairly popular. If you’re looking for a VPN, you could try out our NordVPN VPN for Canada. It’s fast, reliable, and has amazing customer support if you need any help.

If you decide that it’s not for you, there are plenty of other options to choose from. We also have a NordVPN Plus for Canada which is exactly the same as the regular version, but with one additional feature — the ability to unauthenticate your internet connection (also known as a kill switch). You can use this to terminate internet connection whenever you want (say, to watch television or to finish an online purchase).

United Kingdom

Another important market for VPNs is the United Kingdom. Just like the United States, the UK is also a place where many great companies are based. It’s no wonder that VPNs are so popular there; you’ll find a lot of choices, including NordVPN’s VPN for UK. You could also try ExpressVPN or PIA VPN. Both are reliable and offer a great service for people who want to stay in the UK.

What’s great about the UK is that many people there use VPNs to protect their personal data. Even more surprisingly, the use of VPNs to protect one’s identity is not a recent phenomenon. In fact, the use of VPNs in the UK is said to have originated in the mid-1990s when people started using them to protect their privacy online. It wasn’t until the mid-2000s that VPNs started becoming popular as a tool to keep one’s identity anonymous online.

Australia

A massive 18% of our users come from Down Under. If you’re looking for a VPN for your location, you could try our Australia-based NordVPN. It’s one of our most popular and fastest servers. If you decide that it’s not for you, there are several other excellent choices that you could try. Our other popular servers are situated in Hong Kong and the Philippines, where Google’s headquarters are located. You can find out more about these servers here.

What’s great about Australia is that many people there use the internet for social purposes as well. If you’re looking to monetize your website or app, you could consider turning them into a travel site or an app where you could earn money off your visitors. There are numerous ways to earn money online, so you’re not just relying on advertising. Plus, you can protect yourself from geo-blocking by using an Australian server. In many places, online content and services are restricted by location, but not in Australia.

Singapore

The last but not least of our five most visited servers is Singapore. Just 2.5% of our users come from this beautiful island country. What sets it apart from the rest of our servers is that it’s one of the places where internet accessibility is restricted. Specifically, it’s illegal to host websites or applications that are not considered “harmonious” with Singapore law. In other words, you could get in trouble for running a VPN or any website or app that helps people connect or communicate privately.

This is why we recommend that if you’re looking for a VPN to hide your identity while you’re abroad, then Singapore is not the best choice. Still, if you’re not worried about getting in trouble, then you could try our Singapore-based NordVPN. It’s one of our most trusted and popular servers. If you decide that it’s not for you, there are more than a few other reliable VPNs that you could try out.

Where Do People Spend the Most Time?

Considering the previous question, do people spend more time in certain regions or countries? Is there a clear pattern in terms of the regions that our users visit the most? To find out, we looked into the time that our users spend on our website and apps. The results were pretty interesting. Below, you’ll find the five regions and the average amount of time that our users spend there.

As you might expect, people in the United States spend the most time online. Almost 80 minutes each day on average. Keep in mind that this is only the time that our users spend on our website. Once we excluded those under 13 years old from the analysis, the results were even more astounding. Children between the ages of 8 and 13 spend less than an hour online each day (on average). People in the UK also spend a lot of time browsing the internet — almost 80 minutes per day on average. Canadians also like to spend time online, but they use social media apps more than visit websites. Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram are a big part of their day. Only 10 minutes per day are spent on average on websites.

If we look at the least spent on average, we see that people in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines spend the least amount of time online. It’s worth noting that in these places, almost all of the time is spent in apps rather than websites. This is because these countries have a lot of mobile phone usage — over 95% of the population. Apps are what you get when you’re on the go and there’s no connection available. For those in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, online gaming is also a big part of their day. This, too, contributes to the low average time that they spend online.

Do People Visit Habitable Worlds First Or Other Regions?

This next section is pretty self-explanatory: do people visit habitable worlds first or other regions? As the years go by, it’s becoming more common to see people travel to other planets instead of settling down on Earth. Since we’re a gaming website, it’s only natural that we’d want to know which regions and worlds our users visit most. In order to answer this question, we looked into the order that our users visit our websites and apps. The results were interesting. Below, you’ll find the top 10 planets that people visit first, as well as the average time that they spend there.

Earth

It’s pretty obvious that people wouldn’t want to live forever on Earth. At least, not when there are so many more inhabitable planets out there. If you’re curious as to why Earth is the most frequently visited planet, it’s probably because there are a lot of great places to explore and see. As a matter of fact, it’s almost impossible to visit every country and region in this enormous planet Earth. With that being said, it’s still a place of beauty and mystery that even those in search of adventure will not want to miss. Those are the reasons why Earth is the most visited planet. It’s the most convenient place to be based, and it has so much potential. Still, there’s so much more out there — it would be a shame to not see the rest of the universe. So, when people do decide to travel to Earth, they’ll most likely start from a nearby planet.
